Our first food business Nice Pie was established in August 2013 by Katharine Walmsley.

Having always had a passion for all things food, Katharine set out to create a food business with a difference and Nice Pie was born!

In just one month Katharine’s pies had won 5 prestigious food awards and to date her pies have won 72 awards to include Champion Small Producer,  eight Class Champions, Great Taste Awards and her first from The Quality Food Awards in 2015  - Nice Pie were also shortlisted for in the Great Food Club Producer. 

In August 2016 Katharine won the Savoury Pie Class at the Great British Food Awards making her a nationally-acclaimed pie maker! 

Back in June 2014 we got a call from Jamie Oliver's production company who, having researched us and our

mutli award winning and unusual pies, invited us to take part in the show Friday Night Feast with Jamie and 

co presenter Jimmy Doherty. Some of our pies and products were delivered to Jamie for his approval, in no time 

at all we got the call to say 'Jamie thoroughly enjoyed the products' and there you have it, approval from 

the best Celebrity Chef in the World! 

 Following a number of phone calls and meetings, Jamie & Jimmy arrived at our farm with a full film crew and

 filming began!

In June 2017 we filmed with Simon Rimmer (Sunday Brunch) for Tricks of the Restaurant Trade where Simon and his crew filmed in our kitchen with Katharine making our famous Nice Pies.

Nice Pie is now a family run business. Recently the business has expanded with the addition of a very successful Farm Shop & Tea Room which reached the No1 Best Place To Eat In Melton Mowbray within the first six weeks of trading.

This Year 2018 we have just been listed as no. 186 best food experiences for our Nice Pork Pie out of 500 from around the world! 

Set within the farm grounds in a converted chicken shed overlooking the beautiful Leicestershire Countryside a wide range of homemade food is served to include themed afternoon teas, hot meals, award winning pies, cakes and very popular scones, it's hardly supprising the Tea Room is Melton Mowbray's Most Talked About Secret!

Pies are our passion and we're also quite good at making them (well Katharine is!) our popular Nice Pork Pies come in many flavours with recipes created by Katharine our award winning master pie maker
